Introducing the actor, director and producer: Emily Marisabel. Emily plays the voice of "Helen" in the first episode of Medea.
After growing up in Claresholm, Alberta, Emily attended York University’s Devised Theatre program. Eager to be back on the prairies, Emily transferred to the Rosebud School of the Art’s Mentorship Acting Programme where she is now in her fourth and final year. As part of her final year, Emily created a theatre company called Light in the Dark that chooses to tell stories which illuminate hope and make the glimmer of the world brighter. This summer, Emily will be working at the Canadian Badlands Passion Play as their Intern Director. Select Acting Credits Include: Dani Girl (Light in the Dark), A Wrinkle in Time, A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Rosebud School of the Arts), Twisted Tales: Snow White (Rosebud Theatre), Hearts of Black and Gold (Theatre@York), The Canadian Badlands Passion Play (Passion Play Society), The Tempest (Suspension of Disbelief).
This is Emily’s first in-depth involvement with radio-drama, and she is so pleased to work alongside Peter Church and contribute to this unique theatrical experience. She feels she has now caught the bug of voice acting and can’t wait to learn more.
The combination of live theatre, radio-drama, and art-installation in order to tell this story is exciting and creatively inspiring. Emily hopes you thoroughly enjoy this inventive telling of Medea.
